Festival of British Archaeology 2010
 
The Festival of British Archaeology is now over for 2010 but its has been an exciting year. For more information about the events that happened click the links below. King John's Hunting Lodge Museum, The Square, Axbridge
Displays at King John's Hunting Lodge Museum
Open daily until end of September, 1pm-4pm

Artefacts from Saxon Dig at St Michael’s House, Brent Knoll. ‘Our District’, showing pictures of interesting items from villages in our area, including church ornaments, etc. Mining on Mendip and bones from the Bone Cave at Banwell. Nearby parking. Free, donations welcome.

 
Bishop's Palace, Wells

Guided Tours of the Bishop's Palace, Wells

Daily at 11:30am

Children’s trails available. Meet at entrance of the Palace. Parking in city centre. Cost included in price of admission.

About the Festival 
The Festical of British Archaeology is a nationwide, annual event that aims to promote archaeology. It has been running for twenty years, and has evolved from a single day to two whole weeks.
There are a number of fantastic events in the region that CANS members can attend and below are just some of these. Whatever your interests you are sure to find something. Details have been arranged in date order, alphabetically. At the end of the page are events further afield which you might be interested in also.
